St. James Episcopal Church

To all who need a church home – to all who mourn and want comfort – to all who are lonely and want companionship – to all who pray and to all who do not – to all who sin and need a savior, this church opens wide the door, and in the name of Jesus, says, Welcome!

Our vision for St. James Parish is to be a loving family, embracing all people, expressing the love of Jesus Christ and carrying out His ministry in our community of faith and the community in which we live.

We celebrate our past, embrace the present and look forward to an exciting and blessed future. As a loving parish that is not content to remain within the comfort and safety of its historic walls, we seek to journey out into the diverse community and world sharing our blessings, talent and most importantly, the saving message of Jesus Christ.

Holy Baptism

Congratulations to the families of Oliver Baker and Jasmine Rey, who were baptized on Pentecost Sunday. Both Oliver and Jasmine have grandparents and great grandparents who are active members of St. James!

School Supplies Needed

School supplies will be collected for the Lake County Schools through July at St. James. Supply lists are available on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall. You may also “Adopt a Child” and buy supplies on the list for the child. Monetary donations can also be made. There will be an area in the Parish Hall to set up for this drive.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

The men of St. James meet for breakfast and a time of prayer on the first Friday of each month, from 7:30 to 8:15. Our next meeting will feature Fr. Ron Peak, who will speak on an article he published entitled, “A Plan of Evangelism that Really Works.”

JULY 8TH-12TH,  9:00 AM TO 12:00 PM For Children Pre-K through 5th Grade.

Our theme this year is The Armor of God, taken from Ephesians 6:10-20). Be sure to join us for all five days as we learn to put on each part of the armor! If you are interested in helping, please contact Beth Williams at (352) 702-2062. You can register by calling the church office at (352) 787-1981.  We are limiting the number to 60, so be sure to reserve your spot!

“Put on the full Armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)

Summer Singing Saints

For the first three Sundays in August, our Choir Director, Deb Carraway, will invite members of the congregation to meet with her prior to the 10:15 service to learn an anthem to sing for worship. Please join us if you are able!
